West Virginia state officials are developing a plan for the $1.2 billion allocated by the federal government to expand and improve broadband access to areas lacking in the state. The money is coming from the Telecommunication and Information Administration and Assistant Secretary Alan Davidson said that, “today the internet is a necessity, not a luxury.” The funds must first be used to bring service to areas that are unserved.
