WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., has been added to the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, which handles many broadband issues.
Capito received her committee assignments for the 115th Congress on Tuesday, according to a news release.
Capito also will continue to serve on the Senate committees on Appropriations, Environment and Public Works, and Rules and Administration.
"From repealing burdensome EPA regulations to advancing critical infrastructure and broadband access, these committee assignments place me in a strong position to continue fighting for West Virginia in the Senate," the first-term senator said in a statement.
The Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation oversees both the Federal Communications Commission and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration.
