Yesterday, U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) traveled to Pittsburgh, Pa. to deliver the “Call to Action” keynote address at the Keystone Space Collaborative’s 2024 Conference. This event examines the impact of a thriving space industry on the regional Appalachian economy and job market.
“West Virginia has contributed immensely to the space economy,” Senator Capito said. “I was proud to reiterate that message at this year’s Keystone Space Conference where we highlighted the important role our state—and the entire Tri-State region is playing when it comes to strengthening our collective contributions to the space enterprise. Working together, this region can advance the cause and benefits of exploration, and I look forward to continuing my efforts to support this mission.”
“This year’s conference serves as a kick off to the development and the implementation of a true regional strategy that will position us to be a recognized national leader in the global pace economy. This is a bold, and even an audacious task and claim, but I believe that we as a region are good for it. And I can’t think of a better person to kick off this bold and audacious work than Senator Shelley Moore Capito. The senator has and continues to share our belief that our three great states are perfectly poised to become a national hub of the growing space economy. The Keystone Space Collaborative is proud to have Senator Capito support this year’s conference, and we thank her for her zealous advocacy for the space industry,” Justine Kasznica, Keystone Space Collaborative Board Chair and Founder, said.
