U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), Ranking Member of the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee and a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the City of Parsons, W.Va.

This award, which was secured through a Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) request made by Senator Capito in Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24), will assist Parsons in their sanitary sewer upgrades.

“I was proud to use my position on the EPW and Appropriations Committees to advocate for and secure this award to support Parsons in its mission to remove and replace outdated sewer infrastructure,” Ranking Member Capito said. “These improvements will help ensure that the city will have a more efficient water system that better serves its residents.”

Award details listed below:

$1,600,000 EPA CDS award to the City of Parsons, W.Va. to support the removal and replacements of portions of the sanitary sewer system that have been identified by the city as contributors of inflow and infiltration.
