With the Senate overturning President Biden's employer vaccine mandate, West Virginia Sen. Shelley Moore Capito talked with reporters Thursday.

She said while she's pro vaccine and the numbers of those vaccinated need to rise, it's not a matter of government coming down on people or employers.

"I think the rapidity of which the vaccine was developed kind of scared some people off in the beginning,” Capito said. “I think that dissipates. I think we just keep working with our business community and others to say how can we best encourage your workforce?

“I know some businesses are giving bonuses. The governor, obviously, has a huge incentive program going. And we want to support that. I just think we've got to keep at it and not give up."
