WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) is nominating 29 qualified high school seniors from 15 counties throughout West Virginia to the prestigious U.S. Military, Naval, Air Force, and Merchant Marine Academies.

Nominees were selected by a board chosen by Capito, who reviewed each application, interviewed candidates, and made recommendations. Capito released a video message congratulating the nominees.

“These students truly represent our best and brightest, and I am confident in their ability to become the next generation of leaders in our nation," Capito said in the video. “To all of our nominees: Thank you for volunteering to serve in the next generation of leaders for our nation, and congratulations on your nominations."
