Along with RFK Jr., President Trump now also has his Director of National Intelligence in place.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Senate confirmed Tulsi Gabbard as the nation’s newest DNI. Gabbard was formerly the Democratic Congresswoman from Hawaii.

Her’s and Kennedy’s nominations were met with the most pushback from Democrat and Republican leaders, but she was ultimately confirmed on a vote of 52-48.

The only Republican who voted against her was Senator Mitch McConnell. West Virginia Senator Shelley Moore Capito did vote for Gabbard.

“She is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Reserves and has served our country for years. I know her because I served with her, and I think she will do a great job there so I’m very pleased about that.”

Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-WV

Gabbard is now the first female combat veteran to serve as Director of National Intelligence.

Despite Democrat and Republican criticisms that she’s too soft on Russia, along with her support of Edward Snowden, Gabbard has risen in prominence over the past several years.

She’s gained popularity for her appearances on a variety of podcasts, including the Joe Rogan Experience, and joined President Trump on the campaign trail.
