The newly renovated Challenger Learning Center at Wheeling University invited the public to view a new “out of this world” experience.
Thanks to a grant from Senator Shelley Moore Capito and NASA, they were able to redo the entire center with a new Blue Origin designed Mission Control, the creation of a Transport Room, and the development of a Space Craft Simulator.
The Challenger Learning Center welcomes around 200 classrooms in a year, but they’ve opened today for everyone to take a look.
”We’re so excited because most of the time, students come through and the community doesn’t have the opportunity to come through. So, we’re excited to show them exactly what we do here at the Challenger Learning Center. We’ve got virtual reality goggles for them to try out for our classroom activity and to show them the simulator.”
Jackie Shia – Director, Wheeling University Challenger Learning Center
There is also a ‘Micronaut Center’ for children in kindergarten to 4th grade.
The open house is at Wheeling University’s Challenger Learning Center from 3pm to 7pm and is open to everyone!
