U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., ranking member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee and a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced on Wednesday an award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for Greenbrier County Public Service District (PSD) No. 2.
This award, which was secured through a Congressionally Directed Spending request made by Senator Capito in Fiscal Year 2022, will help extend two waterlines in Greenbrier County to reach areas currently without public water service.
Award details include:
• $1,500,000 EPA CDS award to Greenbrier County PSD No. 2, Rainelle, for Phase II Waterline Extension. This project consists of constructing two waterline extensions to serve the area between Charmco and Rainelle, as well as between Sam Black Church and Clintonville. Once completed, the extensions will aim to provide public water and fire service to areas that do not currently have access.
