The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has awarded $370,000 to improve oral health outcomes in West Virginia.
The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources will administer the grant.
“Physicians and other health experts stress the importance of maintaining oral health to overall well-being,” said U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito. “Programs that promote best practices and reduce disparities in oral health will help prevent chronic diseases and strengthen the health of West Virginia communities."
U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., added, “West Virginians need and deserve resources that support their well-being, and I am pleased that this funding will go toward doing just that."
