A proposed energy bill is getting ready to make its rounds on Capitol Hill.

Senator Shelley Moore Capito tells 7news that this bi-partisan bill will not only help both of those industries, but it will also provide more opportunities for the future.

Lawmakers from the mountain state are worried that the President and his administration now have their sites set on the Natural Gas Industry, just like they had on the Coal industry.

"You can hear the footsteps of what's happened to coal starting to happen to Natural Gas," Capito said.  "That's just not a smart energy policy. That's what this bill is all about smart common sense energy."

Senator Capito says research and innovation are key in this bill. She says the future of Energy is bright.
