West Virginia state professional truck drivers were recognized by Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Congressman Evan Jenkins (R-W.Va.) for their hard work that they do for the West Virginia economy.

“West Virginia’s truck drivers and other industry professionals keep our economy moving. They are on the road 365 days a year moving the products that we use on a daily basis,” said Daniel Harmon, chairman of the WVTA. “We are so appreciative of our drivers and are absolutely thrilled that Senator Capito and Congressman Jenkins joined us in supporting and celebrating a week dedicated to them.”

Senator Capito honored the drivers with a flag that had been previously been flying over the U.S. Capitol. Congressman Jenkins gave the drivers a letter of support and appreciation that was signed by all of the three members of the state's U.S. House of Representatives delegation.

National Truck Driver Appreciation Week continues through Sept. 19.
