According to Veterans Affairs, a new location for the Charleston clinic will be on Route 119 South at 700 Technology Drive in South Charleston and is expected to open in the summer of 2016.

The current clinic will remain operational until the new clinic is open.

Senators Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., and Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., welcomed the announcement about the site selection.

“West Virginians have a long history of service to our nation and deserve the best care possible. The new clinic in South Charleston will provide a number of additional services to the thousands of veterans in Kanawha and surrounding counties,” Capito said. “We must continue to enhance access to care, meet the specific needs of veterans living in rural communities throughout West Virginia, and ensure that the VA has the resources necessary to fulfill its mission.”

Manchin said veterans have sacrificed so much for the country and deserve the best care when they return home.

“As the number of veterans continues to grow in West Virginia, it is wonderful that those residing in Kanawha County and around the area will have access to the healthcare services they need and deserve at this new clinic,” Manchin said. “This is great news for our veterans.”
