New VA community outpatient clinic opens in Princeton

PRINCETON, W.Va. — Tele-health opportunities will be a large part of the new Veterans Administration outpatient clinic in Princeton. 

Both U.S. Senators Joe Manchin and Shelley Moore Capito spoke at Friday’s ceremony. 

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Friday with U.S. Senators Joe Manchin and Shelley Moore Capito on hand along with Third District Congresswoman Carol Miller. 

The new clinic is located at 150 Court House Road in Princeton. 

Capito said tele-health will open up “all kinds of services” to veterans in the region. 

“Whether it’s bariatrics, diabetes, Parkinson’s, traumatic brain—so you can to the specialist through our technology without leaving the community,” Capito said. “I hope all the veterans in the area will come by and see them."

Bluefield resident Al Hancock, a local advocate for veterans, delivered the keynote address. Also on hand for the ceremony, Beckley VA Hospital Director Stacy Vasquez and Robert Walton, the director of Veteran Integrated Service Network 5 (VISN 5).
