WASHINGTON (WSAZ) – U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, who is helping spearhead the Patient Freedom Act, spoke with WSAZ Tuesday about the plan.
Capito, R-W.Va., says the Affordable Care Act is not working for West Virginians and that the Patient Freedom Act is a smart choice.
“What this does is it helps people whose premiums are skyrocketing, whose deductibles are skyrocketing, who basically have lost their insurance,” Capito said. “It will help employers who are offering insurance. It would help control costs, it would help keep those who are on Medicaid.”
Capito also says the Patient Freedom Act would insure more people and give them better quality care.
