WASHINGTON D.C. - The Senate Commerce Committee approved one broadband act focused on improving connectivity efforts around the nation.

The Measuring the Economic Impact of Broadband Act was approved by this committee meaning it may now move to the full Senate to be voted on and approved.

Senator Shelley Moore Capito voted to pass the bill in order to enhance broadband with and accuracy around America.

"For those folks who are still in the remote areas who don't have good service, this is the best way to get it to you quickly and most economically," Capito said

According to Capito, this legislation would require a federal study on the effects of broadband deployment on the U.S. economy.
