OAK HILL, WV (WVNS) - Senator Shelley Moore Capito came to Oak Hill High School Friday, March 29th, to speak about the importance of financial literacy. Students at the high school were recognized for their involvement in the Capitol Hill Challenge Stock Market Game.
Senator Capito provided some insight to the upperclassmen who are getting ready to graduate. She also shared some background knowledge on what it means to earn and save money.
"We want to encourage our younger generation to be better prepared, to be more aware, to understand what it means to pay taxes and what it means to save and to be better prepared for the future," Capito said.
Senator Capito has been talking with schools across the state to encourage students to be more aware of their money.
