Senator Shelley Moore Capito's mobile office provides resources for veterans to get new ID card
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. - U.S Senator Shelley Moore Capito's mobile office was at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg Tuesday to host a Veterans ID Card, or VIC, clinic. The clinic was to help veterans who are honorably discharged from service apply for the new card.
Veterans said the new card is beneficial because it gives them access to benefits outside the health care system.
"It makes it easier because a lot of us don’t carry or DD form 214, which is your discharge paperwork, with you and also there are some veterans who aren't eligible to come to the VA so they wouldn't have the VA medical ID card, the one we use to access care here," Marina Bilyeu, army veteran.
