Town of Milton receives $190.7 million for project to build levee, reduce flooding

Milton is getting more than $100 million in additional federal funding for construction of a levee to help prevent flooding.

The Cabell County town will receive $190.7 million from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the Lower Mud River flood risk management project, according to a news release Monday from U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., and U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va.
