U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito announced more than $3 million in federal funding for disaster relief in West Virginia.

The funding, from the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency, is meant to aid recovery efforts after severe flooding in April 2018. The funds will go to the West Virginia Division of Emergency Management for ongoing recovery projects.

FEMA also surveyed homes in Bridgeport affected by severe storms and flooding in August 2023.
