Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) has called for President Joe Biden to resign from the presidency, one day after he announced he would not seek re-election.
On Sunday, Biden released a statement on social media saying he would not seek reelection. He endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to become the Democratic Party’s nominee.
Sen. Capito said in part, “If President Biden feels that he is not capable of making it through the demands of a campaign, then how could he be capable of serving out the rest of his term as president?”
She goes on to comment on Vice President Harris’ leadership, which she called “failed” based on her work on the Inflation Reduction Act and the U.S.-Mexico border.
