It was a big day for West Virginia Senator Shelley Moore Capito after it was announced that she would be serving as the next chairwoman of the senate republican policy committee.
This now makes her the 4th highest-ranking Republican in the U.S. Senate.
She joins a long list of senators who will work alongside President-elect Donald Trump during his upcoming term in the White House.
Capito wrote on social media that the GOP party now has the responsibility to promote and advance conservative and Republican policies within the Senate Republican Conference.
It is literally the American Family, the mom and the dad, the grandmother, whoever it is going to the grocery store, we do it all the time every week, and we could see all of us could see the escalating costs of something. So very basic to us, just the cost of food and hearing from the Vice President, in her campaign. The economies doing great, don’t worry. And so we hear those voices, we hear them.
Loud and clear. And those are the voices that were going to respond to along with President Trump through the next several years.”
