WHEELING, W.Va (WTRF) – Amid the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, another terrorist group has made its way back onto the U.S list of terrorist groups, the Houthis Rebels.
7News got an exclusive interview with West Virginia Senator Shelley Moore Capito discussing her thoughts on the issue.
Within the last week, the U.S. has added the Yemen based terrorist group, Houthis Rebels back to their list of terrorist groups.
This all comes after a stem of attacks on international ships in the Red Sea.
West Virginia Senator, Shelley Moore Captio, tells 7News she has one question for the Biden Administration and that is, “Why were the Houthis taken off the list?”
Capito says this group has “terrorist blood flowing through their veins.”
“They don’t believe in freedom, and they don’t believe in democracy. And so, if they can find our vulnerabilities, they will. I don’t know why he took them off the list. I’m glad they’re back on because that has impacts economically.”

Capito went on to say travel through the Suez Canal is critical, and ships having to travel around the Horn of Africa has caused more time and expense for these commercial ships.
Capito also says she hopes U.S. attacks on Houthis disables their ability to interfere with commercial ships who are carrying much needed goods all around the world.
