Military Veterans bused from Princeton to pay their respects to fallen soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery. Thanks to the help of "Always Free Honor Flight," Military Veterans can visit the site at no cost.
Honor Flight assists with transporting military veterans to memorials of which they fought in. The trip included soldiers who served in World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam War and the Cold War era.
Gregory Sanders was one of those Veterans.
"By coming here, I wanted to know what I served and what I was fighting for," Sanders said. "It made me feel good. Whoever decides to serve in the future, they'll know what they're fighting for."
This is the ninth year Honor Flight has transported veterans to Washington, D.C., but this visit was different. For the first time, Honor Flight would lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a huge token of respect.
"When I was watching our veterans and I saw them walk out to meet the wreath at the tomb, I cried," said Dreama Denver, President of "Always Free Honor Flight."
West Virginia leaders also came to Washington, D.C., to tell these soldiers, thank-you. In attendance Democratic West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin, Republican West Virginia Senator Shelley Moore Capito and 3rd Congressional District Representative Evan Jenkins.
