MINGO COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – The Williamson Health and Wellness Center will receive a large amount of funding for support.

U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) announced on Thursday that the center in Mingo County will receive $343,887 in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

According to a release, the funding is awarded through the Health Center Cluster Grant Program. The funding will support health care operations and will expand access to care.

"The Williamson Health and Wellness Center is working hard to provide access to high quality health care for the people of southern West Virginia. This funding will allow the facility to continue to coordinate with its local partners to promote better health and opportunity in the community," said Senator Capito.

Senator Manchin said, "All West Virginians deserve access to primary and preventative care that will keep them healthy. This funding will enable the Williamson Health and Wellness Center to continue providing quality and affordable health services, especially to our children, veterans and seniors, while also expanding access health services."
