WASHINGTON, D.C. – Many republican leaders across the country have voiced concerns regarding the replacement of Obamacare, specifically here in the Eastern Panhandle.
West Virginia Senator, Shelley Moore Capito, said that she believes West Virginians deserve access to affordable quality healthcare.
On Thursday, Capito outlined plans for what she said will be a serious replacement plan called the Patient Freedom Act of 2017.
She said the plan will reduce Obamacare regulations that caused insurance premiums to sky rocket and, in turn, will provide more health care choices to individuals and families.
"I think a replacement will be much better, cover more people and also give people the choices that they need. We can make our own decisions on healthcare. We don't need the federal government's heavy-hand-making those decisions,” said Sen. Capito.
Capito said she is hopeful for the future of West Virginia if the Patient Freedom Act of 2017 is enacted.
