CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. – “We needed more good news in West Virginia, and I want to be the federal partner that works with getting those dollars to West Virginia because we deserve our tax dollars back,” said U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito.
On Monday morning, over 100 members from the West Virginia Economic Development Council came together for their annual fall conference with U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito as a guest speaker.
“For me, I talked about my Capito Connect plan - the really huge problem we have with the lack of high speed internet,” Capito said.
The conference was held to bring members together to discuss ways to improve the West Virginia economy, and after seeing projects like Proctor & Gamble being brought to the area, the Senator is confident that it will attract more business for residents in the four-state region.
“It will show big companies that West Virginia has what it takes. We are so well located here to really serve three-quarters of the country,” Capito said.
Although West Virginia is excelling in the tourist industry, some believe that there is still room for improvement.
“So, we need better technology. We need better connectivity. We need to inset and work with out young people to create small business,” Capito said.
