MORGANTOWN — WVU is offering a new course on entrepreneurship essentials for military veterans.
The online course will be offered over WVU’s two summer sessions, from May 13-Aug. 6, with two on-campus residencies. Worth three credit hours, the course counts toward an undergraduate or MBA degree.
The course is for discharged veterans or military personnel serving now, with a high school diploma or equivalent. The cost is $954.
U.S. Sens. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., applauded WVU for offering the course in a joint news release.
“One of our nation’s great challenges today is making sure that our veterans can transition to civilian life and providing unique education opportunities is an important piece,” Manchin said. “These online courses are tailored to the unique challenges our veterans face while working towards a higher education. I applaud WVU’s leadership, and I urge all interested veterans to apply for this specially designed course.”
Capito said: “Our veterans have sacrificed so much to defend our country, and just like the rest of us, these men and women deserve an opportunity to live their version of the American dream. This program will help our veterans transition into civilian life and successful careers. I am grateful WVU is offering this course, and I hope all interested veterans will apply.”
