WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) announced two grants from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) for forensic science research programs at West Virginia University.
“West Virginia University is a source of great pride for our state, and I am so glad this funding will help support the critical forensic science research taking place there,” said Senator Capito. “This research has the potential to lead to breakthroughs that will save lives and curb crime.”
"As the only institution in the country to offer a bachelor’s, master’s, as well as a doctoral degrees in forensic science, West Virginia University continues to advance cutting edge forensic science research,” Senator Manchin said. "These grants are wonderful news for WVU and the entire state. I applaud the University for their dedication to forensic science research throughout the years.”
