CHARLESTON, W.Va. — U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), Ranking Member of the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee and a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) State and Tribal Assistance Grant (STAG) program for the Nettie Leivasy Public Service District. This funding, which was secured through a Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) request made solely by Senator Capito, will be used to upgrade drinking water systems in Nicholas County.

“Ensuring West Virginians have reliable clean water will always be a top priority, and this funding I advocated for will help meet that need for West Virginians in Nicholas County. I will continue to use my role in the U.S. Senate to provide the support that our communities need to strengthen their infrastructure and improve the lives of our residents,” Ranking Member Capito said.

  • $4,020,000 funding through a Capito-only CDS for the Nettie Leivasy Public Service District (Nettie, W.Va.) to support a water system improvement project under the EPA STAG program’s drinking water State Revolving Fund.
