WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced Constellium’s Ravenswood facility in Jackson County is the recipient of a $9.5 million grant from the Department of Defense (DoD) to to modernize and upgrade their 144-inch mill for cold rolled aluminum, allowing the company to optimize their armor plate production.
“This is fantastic news for Constellium and Jackson County,” Senator Capito said. “It’s clear DoD sees the quality of work in the Ravenswood facility, and with the appropriations language I secured in the FY19 defense bill, Constellium was able to finalize this contract. The upgrades and improvements this grant provides for will enable the Ravenswood facility to expand capacity and bring in more business.”
