WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), Ranking Member of the Senate Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, today announced West Virginia’s allocations under the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) FY21 Notices of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). Collectively, West Virginia is eligible to receive $9,756,454 through the State Homeland Security Program (SHSP), Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP), and Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG).
“As the top Republican on the Senate Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, I have made it a point to highlight the need for additional support in West Virginia and secure increased funding for programs crucial to our state. That increase is reflected in West Virginia’s allocations for FY2021,” Ranking Member Capito said. “With increased domestic threats, these funding opportunities will give state and local leaders direct access to resources to bolster cybersecurity and information sharing, while also combating extremism and emerging threats online. This support from DHS will allow West Virginia to properly secure our state and nation.”
