WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), a member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, today praised the committee’s unanimous approval of The Developing a Reliable and Innovative Vision for the Economy (DRIVE) Act, a bipartisan, six-year transportation bill.
“Tackling America’s infrastructure crisis has and will continue to be one of my top priorities in the Senate. Our states cannot plan for lasting investments with piecemeal fixes and patchwork repairs. Our communities need a robust, long-term federal highway bill to meet the needs of our growing population, to ensure safety for travelers and to boost growth in areas that struggle economically. Today’s unanimous committee vote to approve the Developing a Reliable and Innovative Vision for the Economy Act marks a step forward toward enacting a lasting plan to fund our bridges, roads and highways.”
