WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) released the following statement regarding President Obama’s decision to reject the Keystone XL pipeline:

“After more than seven years of politically motivated delays and obstruction, President Obama’s rejection of the Keystone XL pipeline is a major disappointment to American families who can’t afford higher energy costs and fewer job opportunities. Today’s decision shows that the president is not through standing in the way of progress, as he continues to pick winners and losers in the energy landscape. The Keystone XL pipeline is a no-brainer for jobs, security and the energy economy. Its only downside is the threat to the president’s anti-fossil fuel agenda, which has already crippled West Virginia’s economy.”
