WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced $1,300,000 in Paul Bruhn Historic Revitalization Grants to foster economic development and support the preservation of historic buildings in West Virginia.

“West Virginia has a heritage that we are incredibly proud of,” Senator Capito said. “That’s why it’s important that we do all we can to preserve and maintain the places that make up our heritage, history, and traditions so future generations can cherish them. I’m glad to see the National Park Service making these investments, which are critical to the preservation of our communities so West Virginians will be able to enjoy for years to come.”

“These awards are great news for West Virginia and will give more West Virginians and visitors the opportunity to enjoy our rich cultural traditions across the Mountain State. Supporting the preservation of our historic buildings and other properties allows us to continue to recognize their significant contributions while providing an economic boost to our communities. As Chairman of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, I will continue to advocate for funding and resources that ensure West Virginians are given new economic opportunities and our precious natural, historical and cultural sites are protected for future generations,” Senator Manchin said.
