WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), members of the Appropriations Committee, today announced $1,503,550 through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program. Funding will help the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources provide support and services to West Virginians living with HIV.
“Miracles of modern medicine and support programs enable those with HIV to live happy, productive lives,” Senator Capito said. “As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I am thrilled to see this funding come to West Virginia, and I will continue to advocate for resources to help improve the health and well-being of West Virginians.”
“In the last few decades, through increased access to support programs and ground breaking treatments, we have made tremendous strides in improving the quality of life for those living with HIV. I am pleased to see this funding head to West Virginia and as a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee I will continue fighting to ensure every West Virginian has the support and access they need to thrive,” Senator Manchin said.
