WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), both members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $1,601,829 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for the Camden-on-Gauley Medical Center, Inc. This funding was made available through the department’s Health Center Cluster grant program.
“Health Centers play such an important role in expanding access to medical services in our state, especially in our more rural communities. I’m glad to see this support headed to the Camden-on-Gauley Medical Center to support operations and ensure access to adequate health services in Webster County. Our health centers and health care workforce are essential aspects of our communities, and I will continue to advocate on behalf of resources they need to do their job safely and efficiently,” Senator Capito said.
“West Virginia’s health centers are the backbone of our healthcare system and have provided quality care for West Virginians throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. I am pleased HHS is investing in the Camden-on-Gauley Medical Center to help provide quality, affordable healthcare in Webster County. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue advocating for funding to support health centers across the Mountain State,” Senator Manchin said.
