WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $17,767,672 for West Virginia through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Health Resources and Services Administration. Funding will support the continued operation of several community health centers across the state.
“Access to quality health care services is sometimes difficult for those living in rural communities,” Senator Capito said. “Community health centers help fill critical gaps in our nation’s health care system, ensuring West Virginians have access to essential medical services no matter where they live. As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I will continue to fight for resources that support health care access for West Virginians.”
“Community health centers work tirelessly every day to give West Virginians access to preventive and primary healthcare,” Senator Manchin said. “A well-funded network of local health centers leads to a healthier West Virginia. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue to fight to ensure every clinic in West Virginia has the resources it needs to give my constituents the care they deserve.”
