CHARLESTON, W.Va. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded $200,000 to both the Rural Health Access Corporation in Chapmanville and Community Care of West Virginia in Rock Cave as part of the Rural Health Care Services Outreach Grant Program.

“It can be difficult for individuals to access quality health care in rural areas,” Senator Capito said. “Federal partnerships with health care providers can help ensure that all West Virginians have access to the care they and their families need, regardless of where they live. As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I have fought for these resources for West Virginians and their families and I am thrilled to see this funding come to our state.”

“Our rural healthcare centers like Rural Health Access Corporation and Community Care of West Virginia serve an important role in ensuring West Virginians have the access they deserve to quality healthcare,” Senator Manchin said. “I’m pleased to see this funding head to Rock Cave and Chapmanville and will continue fighting to ensure every West Virginian has this access no matter what part of our great state they call home.”
