WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), both members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $4,778,562 from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for several projects across West Virginia.
“It’s great to see the National Science Foundation once again investing into programs that advance important research initiatives in West Virginia,” Senator Capito said. “These projects will move important work forward at West Virginia University, the University of Charleston, Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College, Mountwest Community and Technical College, and Bridgeville Community and Technical College, which will help to create unique and beneficial opportunities for our students. I will continue to advocate of the funding our institutions need to make a larger impact.”
“The National Science Foundation continues to be an important partner for the Mountain State through their investments in groundbreaking projects and providing West Virginia students and educators with unique research opportunities. I am pleased NSF is investing more than $4.7 million in West Virginia colleges and universities to support innovative scientific research projects, and I look forward to seeing the positive impacts of these awards. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue advocating for research opportunities across West Virginia,” Senator Manchin said.
