CHARLESTON, W.Va. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $6,529,786 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for Head Start programs in the Northern Panhandle.
“I’m proud to champion the Head Start program and am always encouraged to see support for our organizations in West Virginia. Creating a foundation for our children will help set them on a trajectory for success, and is so critical to the future of our state. I will continue to advocate for these resources on behalf of Head Start and all the wonderful things they do for West Virginia,” said Senator Capito.
“As a longtime supporter of Head Start programs, I am always proud to see West Virginia receive funding to support our wonderful programs across the state,” said Senator Manchin. “Today, the Northern Panhandle Head Start received funding to support their programs across the region. I look forward to seeing the benefits of the Head Start programs for our students, who deserve a quality education no matter their circumstances and will continue to fight for our Head Start programs to receive funding that supports their critical work.”
