WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), members of the Appropriations Committee, today announced $116,667 for Marshall University Research Corporation through the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA).  Funding will support Marshall University’s efforts to spur economic development in communities throughout West Virginia.

“Our state’s universities are integral to economic development efforts in West Virginia,” Senator Capito said. “Marshall University has worked with the City of Huntington and numerous other communities to create opportunity for West Virginians, and this funding will help them continue providing the necessary tools to spur economic development. As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I will continue to champion the EDA’s efforts to help grow West Virginia’s economy.”
