WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), Ranking Member of the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee, and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), both members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $79,200 from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) to support Paden City as they implement property improvements and transform a vacant industrial space into a manufacturing or related business space.
“As Paden City continues to grow, this EDA investment will help the community better identify areas for new development, particularly in Opportunity Zones. In turn, those developments will help boost the local economy,” Senator Capito said. “As Ranking Member of the EPW Committee, which oversees EDA, I’m proud to see this award support Paden City and its economic potential.”
“The EDA continues to be a strong partner for West Virginia through the investments in our state, our businesses and our people. I am pleased EDA is investing in Paden City to update a vacant industrial space that will attract new manufacturers or businesses to the community. I was proud to support their efforts and I look forward to seeing the positive impacts of this investment on the local economy. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue to advocate for funding to spur economic development in the Mountain State,” Senator Manchin said.
