WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $1,902,405 in federal funding that will be used to support Head Start services in Oceana, W.Va. This funding was made available through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
“Making sure children have the tools they need to achieve great things in the future is essential to the overall success of our state. That’s why it’s important that we continue to make investments like the ones announced today. I look forward to seeing the impact this funding will have in Oceana, and I will continue to advocate for similar resources going forward,” Senator Capito said.
“Ensuring every child in West Virginia has the opportunity to receive a quality education is the key to our state’s success. As a longtime supporter of Head Start programs, I am pleased Oceana is receiving funds to support their program. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue to fight for funding that supports the education of every student, no matter where they live in the Mountain State,” Senator Manchin said.
