WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) today announced a total of $2,826,948 from the U.S Department of Health and Human Resources (HHS) will be awarded to Head Start programs in West Virginia.
 
“Head Start programs across West Virginia play an important role in setting our children up for success,” Senator Capito said. “This additional support will help these programs continue to deliver critical services, providing children in our state the care they need to learn and grow and laying the foundation for a bright future.”
 
“Programs like Head Start are imperative to ensuring academic success in communities across our state,” Senator Manchin said.   “Every West Virginia child deserves the best chance at a bright future. With this funding, our families and children will have access to the education, health and social services they need to thrive today and in the future.”

  • $1,589,350 – Upshur Human Resources, Inc.
  • $1,237,597 – Northern Panhandle Head Start, Inc.
