WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) announced a total of $3,220,319 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Resources (HHS) Administration for Children and Families (ACF) for Head Start programs in West Virginia. This funding will allow programs in Raleigh and Fayette counties to continue providing critical social services to West Virginia families and children.

“Investing in early childhood education is important to the long-term health and vitality of our students, schools and communities. The Head Start Program benefits many children and families in West Virginia, and I am pleased that this critical funding will support those living in Raleigh and Fayette counties,” said Senator Capito.

“Head Start’s mission starts with family, and in West Virginia, we understand the value of supporting our families and empowering our children to a lifetime of success,” Senator Manchin said. “With this funding, families and children in Raleigh and Fayette counties will have access to the social services they need to thrive today and in the future. I have always been a proud support of Head Start Programs because our children deserve the best chance at bright futures and programs like Head Start help our next generation succeed.”
