WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) announced a total of $5,404,604 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Resources (HHS) Administration for Children and Families (ACF) for Head Start programs in West Virginia. This funding will allow programs in Upshur, Harrison and Monongalia counties to continue providing critical health, nutrition, education, and social services to West Virginia families and children.
“The Head Start program helps create a pathway to success for many children and families in West Virginia. By funding education, health and social services, this federal investment will help create stronger communities and ensure bright futures for our youngest residents,” said Senator Capito.
