WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $9,657,911 in funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Administration for Children and Families (ACF) to support Head Start services in Charleston and Kanawha County.
“A good education creates a strong foundation for success both in and out of the classroom,” Senator Capito said. “Head Start helps prepare West Virginia children for future success by putting them in a learning environment early in life. As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I am glad to see this funding come to our state, and I will continue to fight for resources that provide for our children’s future.”
