WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), Ranking Member of the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee, and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), both members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced a total of $733,887 in grant funding from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC).
“Whether it’s rural water or substance abuse recovery, ARC understands the unique challenges of West Virginia communities,” Ranking Member Capito said. “These three grants make meaningful investments that will improve people’s everyday lives. The ARC remains a steadfast partner in our state’s growth, and I look forward to continuing our work together to deliver more results for West Virginia.”
“The ARC remains a strong partner for the Mountain State through continued investments in West Virginia, our communities and local economies. I am thrilled ARC is investing in three projects to support wastewater system improvement in Reedy, as well recovery to work programs in Lewisburg and Meadow Bridge. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue advocate for funding and work with the ARC to create good-paying jobs and boost economic development here in West Virginia,” Senator Manchin said.
