WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) today issued the following statement regarding President Obama’s final budget proposal:
“After seven years of failed budgets, it’s not surprising that the president’s final budget proposal doubles down on many of the same disastrous policies that have hindered our economy and nearly doubled our national debt. This budget is not a serious blueprint to grow our economy or to improve our nation’s financial future. The president’s proposal avoids making hard choices in favor of polices that would increase spending and taxes. I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Senate to fund our government in a fiscally responsible way that reflects the priorities of the American people.”
